She had a wonderful life—one full of adventure and the kind of affection that you wish for such an amazing little being. Zoey, a rescue dog, came into my life at a time when things were tuff … probably tuff for her too. This was back in Thousand Oaks, CA, and my son and I found her in a shelter … she’d been transported from a San Bernardino shelter where she was scheduled to be put down. Someone, put her in a truck and sent her to Thousand Oaks where there were better odds of her be adopted. Thank you unknown, kind stranger, who ever you are … you have no idea how much love you brought into so many lives … including little Zoey’s.
She lived about twelve years, I think. She got a nasal tumor some months back and it finally got the best of her. My wife, Kim, and I held her in our arms—held her close, as she drifted off to sleep this early morning at a local Emergency dog clinic.
Please take a look at her picture, where she’s happy and smiling … as she so often did (and I’m sure still does), and wish her love and good things on her new journey and into this next phase of her existence … We love you, Zoey 🙂
